THE PLOT:
|
You are invited to the annual meeting of The Detectives' Club to see if you have the talent and skill to become a member. The current members are gathering to split the $5 million in royalties from their latest, best selling book. They will swap stories and brag of their accomplishments. A few may get drunk and misbehave. As the evening continues, past misdeeds may surface. Under the terms of the contract, any of the detectives alive at midnight will share the royalties. Needless to say - some do not survive.
Mingle with the characters during the reception and ask them questions during dinner. Guests will have a multitude of clues and each team will complete a solution card before the end of the action packed evening.
Guests are encouraged to dress as their favorite spy, or detective - based on TV, movies, or their own fantasy. You should come with a character name for your nametag. Details.

The Synopsis:
|
The story occurs in current time and is based upon a comedy written by Danny Williams. You will meet characters such as these:
Dick Chuckles: He is the millionaire police commissioner
Dora Chuckles: She is the spouse of Dick - a former hat check girl who has found her place in society.
Agatha Dimwitty: She is Dick's Aunt - a nosy and observant old woman who lives in London.
Marmaduke the Mystic: He is a magician who is from the Far East, also known as New Jersey.
Shirley Holmes: She is the great granddaughter of Sherlock Holmes.
Dudley Hardly: He is charming and on the verge of discovering his true sexual proclivities.

The Broadway Grill at 1400 Broadway, Burlingame, CA. The 4,100 square foot family-style restaurant is located in the building that started as a satellite branch of the Bank of America in 1923. The Broadway Grill features moderate priced, wood-fired cooking with a menu of hearty and healthy food that is both adult and children friendly. The chef at the Broadway Grill is Art Martinez the former head-chef at the Hilton Hotel, Bubba Gumps' restaurants, and the Crystal Springs Golf Course. Chef Martinez serves up everything from Prime Rib to Firecracker Shrimp to Macaroni and Cheese for the kids. Be sure to bring your appetite!
The atmosphere of the Broadway Grill is a tribute to the Broadway on the other side of the country, and to the heritage of the old bank building. From the time you enter the restaurant you'll see the visual cues that reference New York City's deco architecture, also lots of Broadway memorabilia that salute the Big Apple's famous theatre district. You'll see a staircase that reminds you of a New York Subway Station and comfortable dining booths with cut-glass bank dividers. Authentic Broadway show posters are on display throughout the restaurant.

The Daddy, the Diva, and the Detective, adapted from a script by well-known comedian, Danny Williams, is a humorous murder mystery dinner. The action happens during a wine reception and 3-course dinner, using 2-3 areas of the Village Inn & Restaurant for the event.

THE PLOT:
|
The Empress (Donna Sachet thirtieth elected Empress of the City) and the Leatherman (Lenny Broberg, International Mr. Leather 1992) star as our glamorous hosts. Join our illustrious cast at their studio party as they celebrate their latest block-buster movie and split the first $20 million in royalties. They are also conducting auditions to see which guests have talent for future films. As the evening continues, past misdeeds may surface and a few may get drunk and misbehave. Under the terms of the contract, any of the celebrities still alive at midnight will share the royalties. Guests will have a multitude of clues and each team will complete a solution card before dessert. This script is High Camp and all guests are welcome. Guests are encouraged to come dressed as a Daddy, a Diva, or a Detective. A costume contest may be held to add to the fun.

Murder on the Wine Train Express is murder mystery theater and gourmet dining at its best. The event is an experience of "Real Life Theater" with the actors appearing as real people and not on-stage actors.
The action occurs throughout the train. The actors move and will come to your train car during the reception and dinner.

THE PLOT:
|
The year is 1915. San Francisco has been reborn from the ashes of the Great Earthquake and fire of 1906. Under the vision of people such as D.W. Griffith, Mack Sennett and Charlie Chaplin, the silent film industry has taken off and revitalized entertainment. With the advent of a new railway, wine makers have discovered California's Sonoma and Napa Valley Wine Regions and are building an industry they believe will someday rival the wines of France.
The audience will receive a great variety of written and verbal clues, and then work on teams to complete a solution card, as the mystery unfolds during a gourmet dinner. The best sleuths will receive prizes.
Come dressed in period costume from 1915 or just add a top hat or feather boa to your current wardrobe.

The Synopsis:

This story is set in the time period of May 1915, based on an original production written by Steve Rockwell. You will meet several characters, such as:
Dominic Giannini: President of the Panama Pacific Exhibition, and brother to the founder of the Bank of America
Grand Duchess Anastasia Petrovska Nybom: Born a Russian aristocrat, the Grand Duchess came to California as the wife of Captain Nybom who was the owner and promoter of the Inglenook winery before he died.
Senator Thurston Desmond III: A jaded and corrupt U.S. Senator
Miss Valerie La Veaux: She is the Honorary Grand Marshal of the Panama Pacific Exposition, along with Richard Halliburton.
Lt. Max Hohenberg: A lieutenant in the Royal Navy of Saxony, he is on leave to pursue his interest in the making of wine.

Shows are usually two times a month on either a Thursday or a Friday night. Occasionally other shows are added. All shows are from 5:45 — 9:45 pm. Dress code as suggested. Check ticket purchase for all available Wine Train shows. Tickets are $135 per person for dinner and the performance.
